Holy Joe, Oh Where Did Your Momentum Go?!

Poor Joe,

His crusade to defend the average American Democrat who is indecisive on the war, loves religion and apparently believes anything Bush says has apparently failed. I suppose his twisted idealogy of warfare, do-nothing politics and religion garnered little sympathy from anyone left of the right-wing nutjobs that call themselves Republicans and/or moral human beings (you can fill in here with any insulting comment you like). Poor Joe! Oh poor pathetic Joe. I suppose it’s all over for you… or is it!

I’m guessing he may pull it out just yet in the arms of his new found Republican friends. Should we worry? YES!

This man is not one of us, but if he wins, he may, or may not cast the vote to the appropriate side. After all, it is most important that this right winger cast his official vote to the Democrats (not to specific bills, but to Senatorial power [which would add one more vote to the Dems]), ultimately deciding leadership rolls and the agenda of the entire Senate. Let us not as Progressives make more enemies than we need. We have enough enemies. Progressivism is about reaching out. About creating a broad coalition of change. This nimrod doesn’t offer Dems much more than a friend in conservative land, and that’s exactly what we need.

I’m not saying the Democratic Party should abandon it’s choice for the Senatorial race in Connecticutt, I’m saying we should not forget that old Holy Joe nationally in the grander scheme of things is an ally. Let us not, as intelligent Progressives, push this man to the other side! He may very well win the election as an independent, and become our enemy!

Yes his defeat, and subsequent independent potential victory are a sign of times to come. He’s the poster child of defeat and phony moderatism. It is a sure sign of the new progressive movement, as he is the first target, I’m simply saying we must see the big picture, now that we’ve made an example of holy Joe, let’s humiliate him further by making him beg to be on our side.

In the end, politics is about creating forces of power and change. Let this modern Progressive movement define power and change by what we truly stand for, progress.
