Wright, Wright, Wright has become synonymous with Blah, Blah, Blah. It’s all these morons talk about over there in media land. While the issue over some idiotic statements made by an aging and out of touch pastor have given Right-wingers more than just a chance to put together clever headlines like “Wright is Wrong†and “Wright is STILL Wrong†and “Wright Isn’t Rightâ€, it’s also given Republicans a chance to use race as an issue, sparking fears of the revival of Southern racism.
Are the American people dumb enough to fall for this Media manufactured story though? Or is this just an example of sensationalized gotcha journalism? A new poll proves that they are indeed a little bitter about Obama and the Rev. Wright debacle, however there is one thing they are even bitterer about: President Bush.
A new Wall Street Journal/NBC Poll outlines the simple fact that Americans are more enraged by John McCain’s links to President Bush than by any link by Obama to an angry black pastor or, LOL, a Weather Underground associate. It just underscores, once again, everything I’ve been saying. Americans don’t give a flying frijol about these media manufactured stories, what they want more than anything is jobs, health insurance, retirement pensions and food on the table. They want a piece of the American Dream, good schools for their kids and a cleaner, less carcinogenic environment. Not only that, but most people I talk to have a strong desire to leave this Earth knowing that they left a better world for their grandchildren, not selfishly pass on debts, pollution and problems because they didn’t feel like paying taxes. In other words, they want the polar opposite of President George W. Bush.
The ironic thing about McCain is that he made his name fighting against the burning Bush, then, in order to secure the Republican party’s nomination, began kissing up to ol’ W, enlisting the help of his campaign advisers (even Rove is coming aboard). McCain sold out everything he stood for, flip-flopping more than an Alaskan Salmon in mating season. Now he is seen as an extension of Bush, which is entirely accurate since he has no plans to change Bush’s economic policies.
The Republicans ARE and will continue to use racism in this election. A glaring sign of just how desperate and meaningless the Republican party has become. One minute Obama is an “elitist†the next minute he’s an angry black man from the ghettos. Wow! YOU GUYS GOT NOTHIN!
The good news is, it seems like the American People are a bit smarter than the rich, white Republican Party leaders give them credit for. If we’re going to honestly talk about elitism than these are your number one culprits.
